Trenderway Farm has been a central feature of the Parish of Pelynt for hundreds of years. Nestled at the top of a river valley, Trenderway is surrounded by trees and lush grassland and the farmhouse overlooks our own beautiful lakes. Situated at the head of the Polperro valley, the waters from our springs supplied our neighbours until well into the last century.
In the same spirit of community, the new owners, Jacquie Harris and Yaron Peled, who arrived here in early 2008, have worked hard to maintain this historic farm's unique character. Already a popular 5-star Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast destination, we have upgraded and enhanced our bedrooms and facilities and invested in training and developing our staff, who are all local. Our efforts have been rewarded with an AA Breakfast Award in 2009 and in 2010, a Visit Britain Gold Award and a Breakfast Award.
In 2008 we started to dismantle the disused grain silos in the old stone barn that is part of the courtyard complex. Behind the huge silos we discovered this wonderful space that had been hidden for many years. The barn is at least 200 years old and many of the original features were still visible.
After nearly two years of careful and dedicated restoration we are delighted to present The Linhay.
The solid Oak Floors have all been laid with traditional nailing and the naturally seasoned West Country Oak in the the Gallery and railings has been allowed to adopt its own shapes. Rendering a authentic feel to this meticulously restored agricultural barn. White-washed walls that evoke centuries of farming, hide the high tech provisions that make this space an ideal location for the most demanding of gatherings. From a period location to a corporate gathering, from weddings to concerts or even theatre, the gorgeous oak floors of this barn are just waiting for the footsteps of happy dancers and the walls are begging to hear the laughter of celebration.
